Kit Hire

We now offer 5 weeks hire of a birthing pool accessories kit for only

£30 (without a liner)

or £50 (with a brand new sealed liner).

This includes FREE delivery and collection of your kit.

These packages are ideal for anyone who has bought a second hand pool from us or Ebay or has been loaned a pool by a friend or family member and needs to purchase a brand new sterile liner as well as find a way of pumping up, filling and emptying their pool.

Please note that if you have booked a pool from us you DO NOT need to hire a kit seperately. This has already been included in your hire charge.

All of our kits are hired with the following accessories:

A disposable liner

To give you peace of mind that you are about to give birth in a sterile environment. Available to fit both the regular and mini size Birth Pool in a Box.

Two 15m hoses

One for filling and one for emptying the pool.

Round and multi-purpose tap connectors

To connect a hose to your taps. If one does not fit your taps the other should but this cannot be guaranteed.

Floating Digital Thermometer

To monitor the water temperature. Large display so can be seen easily by midwife. Lift it out of the water and it turns into a clock allowing you to see what time your baby entered the world.

Strainer

Use before emptying the pool.

Waterproof floor sheet and anti-slip floor mat

Protects your floor without posing a hazard to you.

Electric submersible emptying pump.

To empty the pool.

Electric inflate/deflate pump.

To inflate and deflate the pool with little effort.

Conditions of Use

The rental period is 5 weeks and no refund will be offered for early return of the accessory kit.

We ask that the kit is returned as soon as possible after your baby has been born as any water left in the hoses, or pump can make the equipment go mouldy and it then has to be disposed of.

We take great care in looking after our kits and are confident that they leave our premises in good condition and perfect working order. You must follow the assembly, filling and operating instructions which will be delivered with your kit carefully. It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of all those involved in the use of your pool and to make sure the building in which it is placed is suitable e.g. is weatherproof and can take the weight of the pool. Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, we do not accept any liability for any consequential loss or damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation whatsoever which may arise out of or in connection with the hiring and use of one of our kits.

Please be aware that the kit has a capital value. If for any reason you cannot return it at the end of the hire period we reserve the right to charge you for the cost of a replacement kit. It is therefore advisable for you to have insurance cover for the kit (such as Home Contents Insurance).

Instructions are available on the Instruction page of this website. If you are unable to print them yourself we can print them for you at a cost of 50p.

Two tap connectors are supplied with the kit. If one does not fit your taps the other should but that cannot be guaranteed. Please check these as soon as you receive your kit so that you have plenty of time to purchase a more suitable one from a garden centre or hardware shop if necessary.

Please note that any thermometers or water temperature gauges supplied are approximate only. If you wish to have an accurate temperature reading then please supply your own thermometer or consult your midwife.

We ask that no payment is made until we have contacted you at 36 weeks. We call all of our customers at 36 weeks to make sure there are no complications which rule out a home water birth. If you need to cancel your booking at this point then this will be done free of charge. If everything is going well we will arrange a day for delivery of your kit and ask that you make your payment as soon as possible. Your kit will be delivered to your home address at 37 weeks of pregnancy.

All deliveries outside of Hertfordshire are made by a courier who will deliver your kit between the hours of 9am and 4pm. The courier will ask you to sign a receipt for the pool on delivery. We advise you to unpack it and check that everything is present as soon as possible after delivery.

We will arrange collection of your kit as soon as you contact us to let us know that you have finished with it. The courier is supllied with a telephone number for you and will try this before leaving if there is no reply. In the event of the courier receiving no reply from you or is turned away without collecting the pool you will be liable for a non-collection fee of £10.95 plus VAT.

The kit must remain at the address supplied on the booking form and in your possession unless otherwise agreed with us.

You are responsible for the kit for the duration of the hire period unless otherwise agreed with us.

Under no circumstances should the kit be stored outside.

Any fault or failure of the kit must be reported to us immediately and no attempt made to repair it without our authorisation.

Please throw away the disposable liner before returning the kit and ensure that the hoses and submersible pump are fully drained.

Throughout these conditions, the term kit means the accessry kit detailed above.

It is very important to be aware of electrical appliances whilst preparing and using the pool.

Never touch an electrical switch or appliance with wet hands.

Always site the pool away from sockets or cover them with a splash proof cover.

We do not accept liability for any damage or injury caused by misuse or carelessness.

Please tell us how you heard about Water Baby Birthing Pool Hire:
Your hire period will run from 37 weeks in your pregnancy to 42 weeks in your pregnancy. Payment can be made via Cash, Cheque or Online Bank Transfer. We will call you at 36 weeks in your pregnancy to make sure you are going ahead with your water birth and still require your kit. We also arrange a day for delivery of your kit by our courier. We ask that no payment is made until a delivery date has been decided. We will confirm this by email shortly.
